CARP CARE RULES
The La Chatouillette rules are strongly influenced on the welfare of our fish, the lake and the surrounding flora, fauna and wildlife.
It is understood and accepted by both the proprietors’ and the guests that all guests, prior to commencing using our facilities, have read and fully understood the laid down rules.
Emphasis is placed on the fact that Guardians remain fully responsible for children in their care. No responsibility for the safety of or the unacceptable behaviour by guests who are minors rests with the proprietors.
The Proprietors reserve the right to prohibit the use of La Chatouillette facilities to persons deemed by them to be in contravention of the stated rules.

KINDLY READ AND UNDERSTAND THESE RULES
- Strictly NO MARKING OF OUR CARP in any form.
- Two rods per angler.
- All anglers must EACH use their own landing mat.
- Any angler with inadequate fishing tackle will not be permitted to fish at our lake.
- Fishing from designated swims only.
- Don’t use the small rowing boat.
- No wading or swimming in lake/river.
- Rods must not be left in the water or left unattended at any time.
- NO sacking or holding carp allowed under any circumstances.
- Keep the volume of your bite alarms down after 10pm.
- Always use a monofilament mainline. (15lb minimum breaking strain) No braided main lines except for marker/spod use.
- Barbless hooks max size 4.
- Always use a First Aid e.g. KLINIC to treat hook wounds or any other wounds you might find on the carp.
- Remove ALL hooks and line from the mouth of the carp.
- NO bait boats allowed.
- NO swimming or wading in the lake or river.
- We have a local supplier for quality highly nutrient boilies, particles, baits and dips.
- Please make or use your own particles or boilies.
- NO high oil baits, tigernuts, peanuts, Goo products and petfoods.
- NO fresh fish or sea type baits. (Catfish).
- NO shelf life boilies Good quality Mainline, fresh frozen Nash, Moors etc.
- Use ground baits and free offerings in sensible quantities to preserve the water quality. We do not permit excessive usage.
- Keep all your baits in sealed containers, do not dump left over baits/unwanted baits in the lake before you leave. There is a sealed box to keep them in the games room.
- Please do not take or use glass beer/wine bottles or drinking glasses around the lake.
- NO littering, including cigarettes and broken lines, remove all broken/caught lines
- NO loud music or shouting.
- Leave the BBQ clean.
CARP CARE GUIDE
- Unhooking/weighing. Watches or other jewelry that might damage the fish should be removed.
- Set up your landing net, unhooking mat and weigh sling/retainer first before fishing.
- Keep your landing net, camera, scales and forceps (for unhooking) close to hand.
- Always use the unhooking mat and weigh sling/retainer and always keep the mat wet, using a bucket close at hand.
- Handle the carp with care and return them as quickly as possible back into the lake.
- Use KLINIC or similar to treat hook holes or wounds you might find on the carp.
- Always keep the carp on the unhooking mat and no standing or high lifting and walking with the carp. Always kneel over the mat.
- Use the weigh sling/retainer to take the carp back into the water.
- When returned to the lake, ensure the Carp regains its breathing and is supported and steady prior to releasing.
- Ensure the weigh sling is secured, so the fish can’t fall out.
- We provide landing nets, unhooking mats and a weigh sling/retainer.
- We will inspect them before and after you have used them.
- We reserve the right to inspect your fishing tackle, rigs and bait at any time to ensure the lake rules are adhered to.
THE PROPRIETORS’ RESERVE THE RIGHT TO TERMINATE OUR BOOKING CONTRACT WITH ANY GUEST FOUND TO BE IN BREACH OF OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS OR LAKE RULES. SUCH TERMINATION WILL BE WITHOUT COMPENSATION OR REFUND.
